A great place to visit
Moniaive is a great place to visit for an event, a weekend or even longer. It’s located in one of the most beautiful parts of Dumfries and Galloway in south west Scotland. The name of the village means Hill of the Streams, from the Gaelic monadh-abh, and gives an idea of the rolling, green countryside that stretches for miles around.
The village is a popular destination for anyone who loves outdoor activities such as walking or mountain biking. Among the attractions nearby are Andy Goldsworthy’s magnificent Striding Arches – some of the loveliest environmental artworks in Europe.
This is a place where the roads are slow and the people take the time to get the best from life – it’s a community full of artists, craft makers and musicians. And together they make Moniaive one of the liveliest places around – in fact it’s Scotland’s Festival Village. The Craigdarroch Arms is a hub for the community, somewhere with a real buzz.
We are easy to find – less than 20 miles from Dumfries and within easy reach of the A76 and the A74(M) from Scotland to England. To find out more just get in touch through our contacts page or contact Tim on 01848 200205, or email him to find out more.
